martin luther king jr.

duce: I grew up in a house where the dark parts of history were told. (Imagine being 5-years old and hearing about columbus' raping escapades. .yea.) One man that was put above all was mr. king. Even though i was always more of a malcolm-type of guy (considering his transformation), i've always had tremendous respect for mr. king. I remember seeing "my friend, martin" for the first time when i was young, and that may be one of the first times i understood racism. It was the first time i felt like i could connect to a man that so many had adored. It was a good feeling. I appreciate all he's done for not just black people, but all races. My belief: He would appreciate the progress we've made so far in race relations, but he would know that there is so much more work left to do. For now it's all speculation. Rest in peace for a man who died too young.
